Premium Direct Line 800 GPD Reverse Osmosis (RO)

  • The 800 GPD RO system has a maximum production capacity of 3000 Litres per Day / 95 - 130 Litres Per Hour.
  • The RO system will remove 99.8% of contaminants from water including rust, dirt, sand, mud, chlorine, organic molecules, chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, heavy metals, bacteria, viruses and parasites.
  • As the membrane captures contaminants in the water they begin to build up on the membrane’s surface, and so to prevent the contaminants from blocking or damaging the membrane the system is constantly flushing the membrane as the system runs. This constant flushing by the system leads to water wastage, as the water used to flush the membrane goes straight down the drain. The water wastage ratio is about 4:1, which means that for every 1 litre of clean water produced there is 4 litres that is used to flush the membrane.
  • Keep in mind that the RO system is also removing minerals from the water, leaving you with clean water that has little to no mineral content.

** RO Membrane life span is dependent on the pre-filters being correctly maintained, failure to do so will result in a diminished life span of the membrane.

Big Premium KDF Instead if Carbon Block

KDF short for Kinetic Degradation Fluxion Media is an artificial alloy of copper and zinc that has revolutionised water treatment. The copper in KDF has a positive charge while zinc has a negative, this results in an electrochemical oxidation reduction reaction. This sounds very complex but the result is that KDF is effective at removing or reducing the following:

  • Mercury

  • Pesticides

  • Arsenic

  • Hydrogen sulfide

  • Lead

  • Chlorine

  • Calcium

  • Chromium

  • Cadmium

  • Aluminium

  • Nickel

  • Iron

  • Rust

  • Organic particles (thus removing smells and tastes)

  • Pesticides

  • Limits growth or bacteria, algae, and fungi

One of the biggest advantages is that a Premium KDF filter only needs to be replaced every 24 months if normal municipal water is used thus only the sediment filter needs to be replaced every 6 months.
